Bowling has some unwritten "rules of the road" so to speak. These rules make bowling a fun sport and one appropriate for all ages and skill levels. Bowling is one of a few games where children, adults, and seniors can bowl together making for a fun family event. Please keep food and drinks out of the bowling areas as directed.
1. Be considerate of bowlers around you.
2. Remove your street shoes at an appropraite place especially if wet. Water, wood, and leather bowling shoes do not mix! Your safety matters first and foremost.
3. Be ready to bowl when it is your turn.
4. Right of way - When two bowlers step to thier lanes at the same time the bowler on the left should should step back and yield to the person to the right. This allows for each bowler to concentrate without being distracted.
5. Please do not use another bowlers equipment. If you do not have your own, house balls are readily available. If you wish to purchase your own equipment please see center personnel and they will be glad to assist you. Lockers are also available for a small yearly fee of just $15-$20.
6. Be considerate of the ball racks on your lanes. Remember you are sharing this part of the equipment with up to 9 other bowlers per pair of lanes.
7. Practice good sportsmanship and don't razz, touch or throw any objects while someone is bowling. Hold the kidding until after a bowler has bowled!
8. No running is permitted in the facility.
We at Elk Lanes want you bowling experience to be a happy and memorable one. If you have any questions or need any assistance please contact one of our personnel who will be glad to assist. Remember you may be bowling next to an experienced bowler or a first time bowler.
Do not loft (heave) balls down the lane or attempt any speed contests. Foul language and running are never permitted in our facility and will be dealt with hashly by management. This is a familiy fun center!
SAFETY!!!
Bowling can be dangerous. Check your shoes and watch that you don't step in any spilled drinks or food then try to bowl. Use caution in the restrooms as well. Many bowlers change shoes when going to these areas.
Watch your hands. If you eat food that may make a ball slip out of you hands wash and dry them before bowling.
Bowling balls range from 6 to16 pounds and can easily break a hand, foot, finger etc.
Watch the ball return! There is a pully belt on the ball return. Please watch your fingers and supervise your children.
There is oil on the actual bowling lane. Do not cross the foul line because you will stand a high chance of slipping and falling.
If you spot any safety issue please immediately advise center personnel.
